Here are two versions of Mustang Sally from a couple of years ago or so. The first is a little hard to hear. Three backup singers just wandered up out of the crowd...lol...that was fun. The second is at a piano bar and was lots of fun although it was close to 1:00 am and I was pretty drunk and the song was kind of a mess technically....but we had fun and that's the main thing. P.S. The Kenny Rogers "Lucile thing is kind of a private joke between me and the piano player over the years and we have fun with it throughout the night with the crowd Laugh

Unfortunately I don't have video of any Joe Cocker songs. The only songs I typically sing from Cocker are "Feeling Alright", "Leave Your Hat On," "The Letter," "You Are So Beautiful," "She Came in through the Bathroom Window." I used to sing "With a little Help From My Friends" but I'm not satisfied with the "scream." lol. I do it but it doesn't have the same impact as Joe, and IMO that scream makes the song. That song is a little tough on my voice. Well, could be that I used to sing it before I had any training...maybe now it would be easier but I just put that song in my files. Laugh

As far as Mustang Sally. Well Wilson Picket is just amazing. I cant keep up with that voice. Look up his version of Hey Jude on Youtube and listen to the screams at the end. I've tried to sing that song (I have the track) over and over but just can't do it. I only sing two of his songs. He is tough. I do a few Ray Charles. Rasp has always been easy for me Laugh

Yea, Wilson had a raw scream.
I like to sing "night calls" "unforgiven" " out of the rain" of Joe Cocker, without rasp.
Im trying to extend my range higher so i dont dare to practice rasp also at the same time, maybe later.
A funny thing is i could do a Satchmo imitation when i was 15 (long time ago) but i cant control a moderat rasp... :(
