OfflineThe great Muddy waters! (I can hear all of you say "who?")
Look him up! Ok, so it's not your thing.
Here is something I did awhile back by Muddy waters called "Hoochie Coochie Man" It was also covered by the Rolling Stones. If you want to here a really good version check out Daniel Formica's cover of this.
Here is my take.

OfflineThanks for the listen and comment Wabba. Oh yea... I'm familiar with the Allman Brothers version. Anything they cover is always good (great!) If you've seen the video of me and my harmonica playing partner doing "One Way Out," the version we do is based on the original. The original is done by Sonny Boy Williamson II but most people are only familiar with the Allman Brothers version, which is so much more, musically, than the original. Everything they touch they improve on.
Thanks again. I was starting to feel a bit unloved

OfflineHi Tommy!
Thats a really good version, more true to the original than the ABB version. I wouldnt change a thing.
I like the oldstyle blues, its raw, naked, personel, more storytelling without all the xtra that bands add to it. I listen to that too, among lot of different music and styles but when it comes to live performance in a small bar, theres not much that beat it.
I think you are inspiring me to start to sing blues, i havent tryed it because im so new to singing and i cant make it justice ![]()

OfflineThanks Lowbass. As far as singing the blues, beginner or not, I don't think it's so much a "technique" thing as it is a feel thing. It's hard to explain. It has to do with the I- IV- V blues progression (12 bar blues) and feeling the ins and outs of the song. The building and releasing of tension in the song.
Here is one we did a few years back (actually this was our first attempt at collaborating.)
