OfflineI usually stick to the more up beat stuff and shy away from the ballads... But today I decided to try and sing this one hope it's not too bad haha

NIce rendition! Liked the vocal color and the grit part. What do you sing normally?
Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake... and some r'n'b songs mostly by Donell Jones.
I usually don't use grit or anything like that. My voice is pretty clean but I recently discovered how to do some kind of witchy distortion in my upper range. Only seems to work above a Bb4. When I use do that the voice becomes thinner less chesty but I guess the distortion makes up for it. Maybe I'll post a song where I can use it

OfflineWow what a voice!
It was really good vocally. The one thing that left me a bit confused was right at the beginning where you sang 'I was'. Because that trill deviated so much from the original melody of the song I was wondering in that moment if you were singing the same song that I know but then as the song progressed I realized you were. Anyways my suggestion is that you should sing the first two words twice. First sing it the way you sang it here but then I would sing them again in the original melody. That way it gets the listener familiar with the song that you're going to be singing.

OfflineThanks Adam
You are totally right about the beginning! It would definitely sound better that way. I like to improvise and that is what happened when I sang the song... Anyway, it needs more practice if I want to perform it.
I think the opening run sounds a bit agressive... also I don't like the way I sing "born" the vowel is a little weird I think. On "too" I do a much better job.
