Good basic exercise

Earlier in the year I was doing the "cousin" to this exercise. (when I was working hard on bridging)

I was doing something like this. Siren up to whatever point you want to work on....high chest voice, passagio, head voice, whatever. Lets say its an "Oh" vowel....siren up heavily CURBED to the desired note....hold the note for a sec....then gradually bring it forward as far as you can on the same note...hold that for a sec....then curb it all the way back....hold for a sec....then bridge it back down

or do it reverse..edged up, then curb, then edge, then back down

I think those simple types of exercises are probably 95% of what one needs to learn to sing well

Its no different than learning to drive a car. Learn the gas pedal, the clutch, the gears, the brakes, the horn, the wipers. How to blow the horn while turning. How to start off on a hill with a straight drive without rolling back into the car behind you. How to roll down the window while driving. etc etc

Im not sure that I need to know how to calculate the compression ratio while climbing a hill during a leap year. We make things to complicated

Also, the ease with which you do this is disgusting to me 😛

Nice little video Dan, short and sweet. It's always good to watch such videos because even if it's something someone may already know (or think they know) or something someone may not be having trouble with there may be an "aha" moment anyway completely unrelated.
