Well Adam after listening to you run some scales and vocalises. You sound clear as a bell it's when you went to application to song it fell apart a little . I think there were some things you over did singing wise like pulling chest maybe or holding back that activated muscles and tension that worked for a while but now seem to be giving up . Just keep getting clear sounds and get the cords to play nice with the air flow and you will be fine. Trust that headvoice /falsetto especially in thEb f f# area after that it's headvoice free in clear.

The vast majority of people I know are getting really sick right now around where I am (Massachusetts). Often long times, affecting the voice etc.

Maybe a steamer would help...I've never needed one, but just putting two and two together if you're still dehydrated despite drinking enough maybe it's the air.

Other than that I would think it's probably just a symptom of the sickness so focus on healing and health. Phil knows a lot of helpful information on that stuff

Sickness could rule out your voice for over a month or longer. Just because you don't show signs of the illness doesn't mean it's gone for good.

I've had a few colds over the last couple of months and at times my cold has lasted nearly a month.
Coughs can last over a month and not be serious.

If your ENT has said that they look dry and red then they're gonna take some time to heal.
I'd say just keep rested and keep guzzling down the fluid.

Hey all,
I have recently experienced a sudden and inexplicable loss of singing ability. For those that saw it, I posted my song "the present" a few weeks ago on the forum. The Sunday after that, without any clear reason (I didn't abuse my voice in any way shape or form) I lost the ability to sing in a mix, I cannot sing above an F without strain and discomfort. I freaked out. I went to see an ENT, he scoped my cords and said they anatomically healthy barring some dryness and redness due to dehydration. So I sucked back as much water as I could and am still drinking a lot. I was hoping it would pass but we are now over 3 weeks later and there is no sign of improvement despite vocal rest, hydration and light vocalizing. I got sick in between as well but I have not been able to sing into my mix without an immense amount of strain and it feels as if I have just started again from square one. In this three week period I have not had a single day where my voice has 'worked' like it used to. Not one good vocal day. I have been trying everything to get my voice working again but to no avail. I was wondering if any of you have heard of anything like this or has any wisdom in this regard. I am desperate at this point and will do anything to get my voice back
