Just as a general rule, especially if you're making a long post, copy and paste it into Wordpad or some text editor before you hit submit. That way, if these weird technical things happen, you don't lose your work.

This is a good rule of thumb to use on ANYTHING internet related.

i was posting as if i was logged in, and then i hit submit and it took me to the login screen telling me i wasn't, wasn't sure what to do. not sure what i did next (either hit back or filled in the login screen or both in some order) but it erased everything. couldn't even go back, copy the text and save myself from it.
