I see... perhaps changing the color of the slide by shading it a bit darker would be something that achieve a similar effect as crescendo. Of course, in an ideal world, we'd have nuanced detailed singing with vowel shading and messa di voce. In time...

And great job playing the piano part while singing then! That definitely seems like a difficult piano part to play well especially while trying to sing.

Hey Slow Start thanks for the feedback!

I tracked the piano and vocals together - first time recording that way actually. I had to because there was no way I could pull off the song otherwise because the timing is relatively free, particularly those speaking bits.

I'm not sure my voice would allow me to add in more chest at the end of the slides down this low...what happens instead is I had a strong tendency to way overshoot the pitch (which i DID do sometimes here) if I tried to go too loud at the end of that slide.

If I raised the key I could do it though. Or maybe as my voice develops more precision over time I could nail that pitch better without having to back off to make sure I'm there.

I'm not sure I'd call that middle G my call register yet...I need to be at about a middle C in order for my voice to really start taking off and sounding like the volume is "loud"...something a composer could write as "forte". My G3 will only go up to the medium loud volume I did here. don't have any more in me than that, currently.

Nice job man! I liked choice of key and expression. Great attention to detail in phrasing and the coordination with the instrumental track was great. Were you playing the piano while recording or did you track your keys and vox separately? I liked your enunciation and slides that you added to the end of each section. I think I would personally like if you were able to add a little weight (more chest, w/e y'know) as pitch increases in the slides with a crescendo for the drama - it seems like it'd be easy for you to do since it's a slide that's completely in call register, so you can take advantage of that timbre fully for flair imo.
