I am going to repeat what the others have told you. You have a ringy and seasoned voice that is perfect to sing bluesy tones.

That would be cool if you could share a clip of you doing "Whiter Shade of Pale" or "Conquistador", but if you can't, its all good. Ok...now you might just be messin' with my head. I love Gary's voice but know damn well I don't sound like him....nor can I sing like him!!

I do sing whiter shade of Pale but never sing it live nor record it other than for practice purposes. The line "And so it was" is my practice line. I use it like a scale. The word "was" is the spot. I sing it over and over, move the placement around, adjust the vowel, adjust the resonance, sing it up sing it down, .sing it back and so on, raise the pallet more...less, whatever. It's like exercising or playing with weights for me. Increments. Sometimes the note is there and sometimes not depending on the time of day or how warmed I am. But it has gotten much better over time. When allergies kick in that one word is gone...all broken up. I have to get that note way up in my eyeballs!! lol Also at the beginning "when we called out for another drink." That line is hit or miss for me. So while I do sing it (everyday actually) I don't think it's for me. I don't do songs that are a stretch or that I might sound a bit strained or too loud etc. Basically I like to sound comforatbe getting the notes. "Sing" them, rather than hit them. I sing the song, but it isn't what I'd call my wheelhouse. Maybe I'll make a recording for your ears only sometime. lately I have very little time though.

I want to hear your voice through the harmonica mic, I bet it would sound wild.

But as far as belting? Well, I'm not sure. I may already be able to!! lol. I tend to sing allot in a certain genre and people get the impression that, that's what I do, or all I do. However, "I" (I could be wrong) believe I do a great deal with my voice. I sing allot of different things. I know though, that whatever I sing it still sounds bluesy....hahaha. So I'm told anyway. But yea, I've done Metalica, Procol Harum (Whiter Shade Of Pale), Skynard, Sabbath, Floyd, The Stones, Joe Cocker, Foo Fighters, Elton John, Garth Brooks and quite a few others. Maybe I belt already....who knows.
