Also on the topic of backing off like you said, that is totally a HUGE dilemma that causes a lot of technique problems in males! I've heard a lot of non-singer music teachers become victims of this in class demonstrations - they either tense up and get shaky or just flip to falsetto. But I suspect their points would come across better if they weren't afraid to go above speaking volume and maintain more stable pitch control.

Nothing really too annoying for the ear, but its pretty clear that my voice was totally unnsupported. I had a tendency to back off which first avoided me to crush the ears of the audience as a beginner, but which later on provoked a host of issues.

Hey Randy, its not too bad man. It sounds like a legit performance messed up by anxiety.

I was a little disappointed that my wife cut the video off before the applause. That applause was very gratifying to me. One guy in his 80's likes me singing that song so well that he has asked me to sing it at his funeral, that is a great compliment.

I hadn't sang in front of anybody since I sang at weddings in the 80's. This is me singing Norwegian Wood a couple of years ago recorded with a Kodak Play/Sport video camera. There is crowd noise and people singing along.
