Here is a little tune by the great Etta James called "I'd Rather Go Blind." Personally I love this song and I quite often end up crying when I sing it (ok...I admit it). But for some reason it isn't that big of a hit when I sing it live, or at least I don't feel the audience reaction as I do on other songs I sing. Maybe it requires the right crowd....who knows? Screw em' I like it and I'm gonna keep singing it!!!

It has been covered by many including Gov't Mule. My favorite version is by Michael Grimm. I'd like to do a version closer to his but his band slows it down a bit (which I like) but all I have is the Etta James backing track (karaoke). It's shorter and a quicker beat.
Here's my take.
