For me, drums and singing is the hardest, then piano and vocals, then bass and vocals, then guitar and vocals is the easiest. No relation to my skill level on those instruments (it's almost the opposite actually) it just has everything to do with posture and what needs to be focused on.

And standing up on these is always a HUGE advantage but for piano, you can't always rely on a keyboard you can stand up at, if you're playing acoustic pianos you're sitting down period. And for drums you HAVE to sit down unless you are using a cocktail kit.

Also, backing vocals with an instrument is a JOKE compared to the difficulty of doing lead vocals with it. Which I still find very easy to PULL OFF but near impossible to MASTER.

I am very motivated by the fact that my greatest influences usually play guitar and sing lead and they do both with seems like 100% focus (when a camera focuses on just one, you cannot tell they are doing the other), it's pretty amazing.

I prefer the second take, you sound more into the song. Your delivery was more focussed and passionate. Maybe it is due to the fact that you weren't handling both singing and instrumental.
Is it more difficult to play piano and singing in the same time than it is with guitar? I can do both with guitar but the rythm has to be very basic and each time there is a deliberate latency between rythm and vocals (for instance, in a song such as Walking on the moon), i either screw the guitar or the vocal parts.

Really slow easy ballad but I picked it to work on singing with more nuance to get away from my habit of just sailing through a song slamming out pitches on autopilot

This is two runs through of the song for a class, there's some critique and chatter in the middle and then it starts again at 8 mins a second time. Sorry for the recorder cutting off the ending.

Basically I played piano and sang the first run through and then the guitarist wanted me to try it again with their piano player and me just singing up front. Although my goal is really to get better at singing lead while playing an instrument. So if anyone has any tips/exercises/learning resources/advice/knows people who teach it etc. on not just pulling it off but really doing a great job on both the instrument and the singing at the same time please let me know. But also just general critique on my singing here would be appreciated!
