OfflineFirst day practicing the song, which requires lots of neutral and practice controlling using breathiness without overpressing.
I think learning to sing this song better will improve my singing as sensitivity to different levels of support and airflow while trying to maintain light closure has been a weakness of mine. Any feedback welcome!
Hopefully I can post some improvements on this version as I practice.
The original song.

"Beekeeper"
Believe me,
Believe me, this loneliness won't go away
Hear me,
Oh, woman that has gone astray
Gone astray
Your friends,
Your friends will always just be in your way
Trust me,
They'll die or leave you, either way
Either way
You all say I've crossed a line,
But the sad fact is I've lost my mind
You all say I've crossed a line,
But the sad fact is I've lost my mind
And I'm just getting started, let me offend
The devil's got nothing on me my friend
All I want is to be left alone
Tact from me is like blood from a stone
Cause I'm just getting started, let me offend
The devil's got nothing on me my friend
All I want is to be left alone
Tact from me is like blood from a stone
From a stone
Can you see?
Can you see they tell you lies thus keeping you weak
Leave me, my heart is dead for all to see
Can you see?
You all say I've crossed a line,
But the sad fact is I've lost my mind
You all say I've crossed a line,
But the sad fact is I've lost my mind
Cause I'm just getting started, let me offend
The devil's got nothing on me my friend
All I want is to be left alone
Tact from me is like blood from a stone
Cause I'm just getting started, let me offend
The devil's got nothing on me my friend
All I want is to be left alone
Tact from me is like blood from a stone
From a stone

OfflineI have trouble singing at this intensity too. It seems like you were under supporting at first and falling into falsetto and getting a bit pitchy, but then toward the end you got a better balance, sounds natural there. Nice work. I think if you gave yourself a bunch of takes like that you'd eventually nail it all the way through

OfflineGood points, Owen.
I agree that the pitchiness often kicks in when the support and onset is not coordinated well and support not maintained. It's kind of cool though, emphasizing the more relaxed approach to singing starting with my lower register - it seems to be correcting a lot of stubborn issues I have had with pressing in my singing, especially when in front of people or recording. Convincing my body that I don't have to "do something" if I'm already doing the right things starting from correct set up.
